1.) The boy lied about his age and said he was 18. And they boy does look like he's 18 or older. 2.)The story the boy posted only showed what James said and pictures. Not what he said. 3.) The boy actually admitted that he lied about his age and said he was 18 to James. 4.) If you put him telling James he was 18 and the rest together, it's just two people sharing lewd photos. 5.) When James found out the kid was 16 and not 18 he told the boy he felt uncomfortable and started to break contact. The boy however pushed it further saying "it can be our little secret" James still broke contact. 6.) The boy didn't like that James broke contact so made is video and is trying to cancel James. This was ALMOST a whole year ago. It takes about 1.479 months for a court case to be heard. It was dismissed already that the boy was lieing Yet you guys are STILL bringing it up and trying to cancel James.

I remember being in high school with Cole Carrigan and hearing about how he lied to another students dad about his age, slept with him and took pictures to get back at the student that bullied him for being gay. And while it was deserved (that kid was an a-hole and Cole was bullied), that man that slept with him committed a crime and definitely ruined the relationship with his kid. I’m reminded of this listening to the James story because there are people out there that will outright lie about their age and the consequences can be nasty for the older (of age) person. I can see where the worry for Youtubers losing money is coming from but honestly, his kind of behaviour shouldn't be rewarded. If this was any other celebrity, this wouldn't even be an issue because the reach these people have is important. As someone who works for a brand who works with influencers. Any good brand will fully research anyone they’re working with. The onus is on them as negativity surrounding an influencer can have a direct impact on the brands’ sales. If Elf went through with paying James Charles knowing the controversy surrounding him then that’s on them. They’re complicit in his behaviour by supporting his career. Equally a decent influencer wouldn’t want to work with a brand who supports people who perpetually display problematic or harmful behaviours.
